    Opalescent Pool

Post by Mugmar on Mon Oct 27, 2008 2:51 am

We are thinking of entering this into a contest with a them of colors. Please tell us what you think.
Taken in Yellowstone NP. What a great place to visit. The colors in pools are caused by algae.

It is a very lovely shot.. I like the way you have capture all the details and maintain to exposure very precise..

But if the theme is "color" I have some reservation about it.. But again It all depends on sitting Judge how do they interperate the theme.. Whatever I say is just a plan guess or my silly thinking

Very clear shot. And I like the composition and reflections. I think its time I got a better camera. I enjoyed looking at some of your shots in the site. Im going back to look at the rest.

    Hi Mugmar,

Sorry if I had hurt your feeling by any means... But allow me to clarify two points :-
    1) I like this picture very much rather I place it in the league of John Shaw's Landscape photography.. A high quality picture

    2) It is my inner wish and I pray that your entries should win each and every competition

Yes when I view this picture with " color" as a theme of the competition.. I feel this picture fits very nicely in Landscape photography.. even because though it is a color photograph.. But the beauty of this picture emphasis more on vast expanse of land rather than color.. But this is just my humble opinion.. others may differ from my point of view. So here I am just giving my opinion based on "color theme" whether it fits that category or not, perfectly..

Hope you do understand & appreciate my concern as a friend.. I just don't want this picture should be wasted but to utilized it at the right time.

    Hope you understand me

    Hi Liu,
No hurt feelings at all. On the contrary, we really appreciate any and all feedback on our shots (no matter where they are posted) It's all about learning and helping each other.

Thanks for the comparison to John Shaw. That really blows us away thanksmz5

Great landscape, Mugmarji. really loved it; but it should not be under "colours" i feel to like Liuji; it is of general observation landscapes never are classified under a topic like "colour"; this may be titled as "colours of nature", though. Still lifes, abstracts, celebrations etc are best spots to get photos that come under the title "colour"; this is my humble opinion 8)

    Vib,
Thank you for you comments. I think I confused everyone in my first post stating that the theme was "colors" instead of "Natures colors"

    sorry about that Embarassed
