This is what I did.
1. I photographed a San Francisco street scene painting to be used for background.
2. Opened photo in Photoshop and filled screen on laptop.
3. Using fishing line, suspended toy Corgi Streetcar and positioned it so it fit optically and perspective wise into picture.
4. Using a 60 watt bulb I illuminated the inside of the streetcar.
5. Pointing a small flashlight at the front of the streetcar I photographed the setup until satisfied.
6. In Photoshop and using Mystic Lighting plugin I created the headlight beam and small green lights on the top of streetcar.
7. I cloned out the fishing lines which held up the streetcar.
8. Done
This photo shows my setup -- laptop with toy streetcar suspended with fishing line.

Thanks Musket. This turned out better than I even imagined. There is a reflection of the cars beside and behind the streetcar on the side of the streetcar from the screen of the LCD. It really added a realism to it all. Closer examination however, shows the reflections wouldnt be exactly as we see them. But it would have to be looked at closely.

Thank you Lui.
By the way my laughing in the post title is because I have no Indoor Studio. Its my computer chair and my camera. I can use a lightbulb and/or flashlight and I have a piece of black cloth. Thats it. So thats why I think its funny.

Its old school way of shooting things caryl. Pre Photoshop you might say. Its satisfying when you can control the lighting, the perspective and other details to make something look other than what it actually is. And if you have a large enough monitor it sure makes a great 'backscreen projector'.

Re: From My Indoor Studio --- hahahaha
Well Musket, since I have a Fuji camera I joined Fujimuggs. I entered the Docks Bay pic and it came in 11th. Most people thought it was just a street scene and that I deselected the streetcar and changed the rest to a watercolor effect. I was told I used too much Photoshop. The only photoshop was the creation of the headlight beam and removal of the fishing lines. Oh well. I liked it and thats all I care about.
