First Baptist Church in America

Roger Williams founded the church congregation in 1638 shortly after he founded Providence in 1636. The congregation built the current meeting house in 1775 under the leadership of James Manning on the site of a disused apple orchard. The church building was the largest construction project in New England at the time and was one of the first Baptist churches to have a steeple and bell.

Nice to see a new post. Welcome back mypics. Its nice to see an explanation or bit of history to go with a shot like this.

Have been up to my neck working. Have taken some pictures but have not had time to take from RAW to jpeg. However, things have slowed down a bit and I will be spending some time in Lightroom, I hope. Thanks.

Very nicely shot. I like the silhouette of the trees in the foreground, contrasts nicely with the white wall of the church... cool2

A lot of repairs and maintenance going on around me and extremely bad weather hasn't given me the opportunity to
go out and shoot so, I've been occupying my time by adding stuff to the site from the Internet
