The official parade. The rest are just imitations.

Ha ha ha!! It's nice to see that they can do something else that adds colour
    and cheer.

Thousands lined the short route around the city centre and a lot of shamrocks were drowned Smile (ie.some got drunk) dance013

on the day. The imitation parades are very welcome. Very Happy

more photo's to follow when I get time, over 80 shots taken and video which I already added to the video section.

Wow you really covered that parade. You were here, you were there, you seemed to be everywhere. Nice job. I wish there was some explanations as to what the symbolism was for some of the floats. There were 2 pictures of a girl in red that seemed to be spinning around the top rung of a tall red ladder covered in shamrocks. There was also a nice shot of a guy in purple driving some kind of big vehicle with a Queen Victoria Greek style sculptured building behind him.

Thanks for the comments Very Happy It was fun doing an event for a change Smile

I've no idea about the symbolism of floats, one regret is that where I positioned myself is that I missed a lot
of the parade as sections of the parade linked up along the way, I will know next time to position myself
further along the route. Smile some 88 shots were taken overall Smile

Very nice series. One really gets the feel of party going on. The colors are great, and you did a really good job controling the exposure in such tough conditions.

I saw an old Photo magazine the other day. On the cover was a street scene in Dublin. The caption was "How to Shoot in Dublin". It was written by the IRA.
Seriously, I downloaded this....the cover of Popular Photography, April 2009.
