Your images are so sharp and crisp. Do you use a special program or is your camera just set up better than mine? I have a D300 but I know I do not have the setting right. I just bought a book on how to do it.

Thanks for commenting...I used DXO optics caryl, plus noise reduction
with neat image, unsharp mask, (pespective adj on one) with
Zoner photo studio pro 11 on these two shots.

I bought DXO optics a few years ago which improves the IQ of the zoom
kit lens of the D80 that I use.

In the past few years I've used a lot of bits and pieces from various photo
editing programs to edit with. My vision is impaired in my right eye with a
cataract although my left eye is still working ok Smile maybe that's why I like
sharp detailed images and sometimes oversharpen......... Smile ..........musket.

Yes I will look forward to see what you think of it
there is a prepare section in it which takes a while
learning, or just use it on it's default setting until
you get the hang of it.......... Smile ..........musket

I tried it but the learning curve is steep and I only get a 2 week trial. I think i shall pass since I have three other good programs.

Yes well when I bought it it was version 4, and the manual that came with it was in Japanese Smile

it was subsequently upgraded [free] to version 5 and then 5.3, the version 4 to 4.5 had less in it and was easier to use
the versions 5 to 5.3 added a lot more to it and it took quite a while to understand how to use. 'The interface could
    have been made simpler'.

There are lots of Youtubes about it.

I haven't had time at moment to go through all of them as yet Smile

Nice shot. I wonder if as each day passes, the price will be reduced even more until they are giving them away!!!!

Caryl, I shot several test shots of the same subject with each having a different in camera setting until I found the combo that worked best for my needs. I use a Canon 30D and after all that just ended up using a little bit of in camera sharpening, and left the saturation, contrast at a neutral setting. Then I use photoshop the process the images.

It was as if you heard me just tell my husband I was going to try that with a controlled lighting experiment. I just finished saying it when I opened your comment. It is about time I found our what some of my lenses can do. Thank you for confirming my idea.
