Well I agree with you vid. The yellow butterfly is superb. The exposure, focus are spot on only made better by the complimentary background green. But that yellow flower really spoils it in my opinion. It breaks up the clean lines of the butterfly and muddles up the clarity with it being out of focus. I cant tell where the butterfly ends and the flower begins. Other than that its really good, Of course its only my opinion and Ive been shot at for less.

    Dear Bynx,
I think i should have used a small aperture and shot from a bit more distance so that both flower and fly are in sharp focus; right? Crying or Very sad

    Vib,

I agree with Bynx that the flower is somehow in the way. The out of focus parts of the flower distract from the butterfly. a deeper DOF would improve this abit, but I think the yellows of the butterfly and the flower are so similar it would still be hard to distinguish between the two.

by the way, Nice detail on the wing applause

I dont think the problem is so much focus as the fact the flower and the butterfly are the same color. Perhaps a slightly different shooting angle would define the butterfly better and separate the two. For the yellow elements the green background is nice.
For avatars, just google for them. There are countless available on the internet.
